Workshop Goals

1. Equip university students with a foundational knowledge of AI and Generative AI (GenAI).

2. Teach practical skills in prompt engineering to maximize AI tool efficiency.

4. Foster confidence in using AI tools responsibly and ethically.

Proposed Workshop Structure

1. Introduction to AI & GenAI (1 hour)

• Objective: Understand the basics of AI, its types, and how Generative AI works.

• Topics:

  • What is AI and GenAI?

  • Key tools and platforms (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, etc.)

  • AI's impact on education and professional development.

• Activity: Group discussion: How have you encountered AI in your daily life?

2. Fundamentals of Prompt Engineering (1.5 hours)

• Objective: Learn to craft effective prompts for AI tools.

• Topics:

  • Anatomy of a good prompt.

  • Types of prompts: instructional, exploratory, and creative.

  • Common mistakes and troubleshooting.

• Activity: Practice session: Crafting and testing prompts using AI tools.
